Our Work

Key Projects
Discover all the latest events and activities relating to our key projects on our events page.

Share & Repair Café
Launched in October 2021, the Crich Share & Repair Café brings the local community together to gain sustainability advice and reduce waste by repairing and swapping, rather than replacing.
Held at Crich Glebe Community Centre, the café has become a welcoming space to fix household items, swap seeds and clothes, listen to inspiring talks and connect with others, whilst enjoying homemade snacks. Meanwhile, children can get stuck in with creative activities and story time.
Donations help keep the café running, and new volunteers are always welcome.

Make, Do & Mend Skill Share
These monthly skill-sharing workshops offer creative, practical ways to improve wellbeing and live more sustainably.
Held at Crich Glebe Community Centre, sessions have explored eco-cleaning products, mending clothes, and fermenting.
Don't miss upcoming sessions on growing and foraging, and nature photography and sound recording.
Supported by Crich Parish Council and Arts Council England through Make/Shift, the sessions are free to attend, with donations helping to fund future events. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

Crich Parish Community Energy
Welcome to our visionary project dedicated to shaping the future of our local landscape through sustainable energy initiatives.
This project invites passionate community members to actively participate in transforming how energy is generated in Crich, Whatstandwell, and Fritchley.
In collaboration with CPRE Derbyshire, we have crafted a comprehensive community energy vision. This vision has led to the establishment of a Community Business Society (CBS), designed to bring green energy solutions to our area.
Join us in this exciting initiative and contribute to creating a sustainable energy future for our community.

Love It Again
Love it Again is a project dedicated to sustainable fashion and upcycling.
Our mission is to rekindle your affection for beloved clothes and objects, such as furniture, through upcycling or simply showcasing them at our community catwalk events like the biannual Sustainable Fashion Show.
We also invite the community to exchange clothes they've lost interest in or that no longer fit for ones that bring joy—all without spending money or buying new.
Our project highlights the adverse effects of the fast fashion industry on people and the planet.

Art Share
Art Share Crich supports local creativity through exhibitions and hands-on workshops.
Throughout the year, residents of all skill levels are invited to take part in interactive sessions like sunflower mono-printing.
Each year, a diverse range of artists and makers then showcase their work at our Art Share community exhibition.
It’s a great way to celebrate creativity, build confidence, and strengthen community connections.
Everyone is invited to get involved, whether to exhibit or take part.

Wellbeing Walks
Join us for regular walks in the local area. Steve is our guide and we look at the landscape, flora and fauna and discuss life along the way.
Sometimes we stop to enjoy some creativity, mindfulness or a spot of litter picking along the way.
Everyone is welcome including well behaved dogs.
See our events page for the next planned walk.

Community Litter Picks
Get outside, meet like-minded people, and do something great for the planet and our community.
Whether you’re flying solo or bringing friends or children, everyone’s welcome, no experience needed!
Our volunteers will show you the ropes and kit you out with everything you will need. Just bring your enthusiasm and a love for the outdoors.
Collaborative Groups
All three leadership groups meet regularly at Crich Comrades Club, either monthly or every other month.
Check our events page for upcoming dates and details.
