Wild Flower Walk

🌼 Join Us for a Wild Flower Walk! 🌼

Get ready to immerse yourself in nature's beauty! Join us on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 11:00 am for a delightful Wild Flower Walk.

📍 Meeting Point: Crich Market Place by the bus shelter.

Prepare for a leisurely walk with breath taking views and vibrant wildflowers. We'll take it slow, ensuring no one gets left behind. Plus, there's a treat in store as we'll stop at Crich Stand Tea Room for some well-deserved refreshments on our way back.

What to Bring:
- Suitable clothing and footwear
- Water, shades, hat, and suntan cream if it's sunny
- Waterproofs if rain is in the forecast

Route Highlights:
- Starting at Crich Market Place
- Strolling across fields to Wakebridge
- Ascending to Crich Stand
- Returning to the Market Place

Photography Competition

We are thrilled to announce the Capturing Natural Wonders Photography Competition 2025, inviting photographers of all ages and skill levels to showcase the beauty of our local environment. Participants can submit their original photos in three categories: Plants, Animals & Insects, and People & Place. Age groups for the competition include Under 8s, 8-12, 13-17, and 18+. 

The competition deadline is May 31st, with winners announced on June 19th at the Make, Do & Mend Skill Share event at Crich Glebe Community Centre. Each category winner will receive a special prize, with winning entries displayed at St. Mary's Church during the Crich Well Dressing celebration.

To help entrants hone their skills, a Family Friendly Photography Walk is scheduled for May 4th, meeting at Crich Market Place at 1:30pm.

Love It Again Fashion Show

Join us for the Love It Again Fashion Show, a celebration of sustainable style and conscious fashion choices! This inspiring event will highlight the impact of fast fashion while showcasing creative, eco-friendly alternatives. From upcycled and vintage clothing to handmade and repurposed designs, you’ll see how fashion can be both stylish and sustainable.

With a mix of informative talks, a vibrant runway show, and interactive exhibits - including a clothes swap - this is an evening not to be missed. Come along, get inspired, and discover how small changes can make a big difference.

Photography Walk

Join Our Photography Walk! 📸🌳

Calling all photography enthusiasts! Grab your cameras or smart phones and join us for an inspiring Photography Walk on Sunday, 4 May 2025 at 1:30 PM.

📍 Meeting Point: Crich Market Place (by the bus shelter)

Embark on a scenic journey through the charming fields to St Mary’s Church and onwards up to Crich Stand. There will be a hill along the way, but don't worry—we'll have plenty of stops to take photos and soak in the breath taking views, ensuring no one gets left behind.

🍵 Finish Line: Crich Stand Tea Room for a well-deserved refreshment break!

- Sunglasses, hat, and suntan cream (if sunny)
- Waterproofs (if rainy)

This family-friendly walk is a perfect opportunity to discover tips for capturing stunning images, all led by talented local amateur photographer, Paul Yorke.

Crich & Fritchley Open Gardens Presents: Plant a Shoe!

Add a splash of colour to your garden this summer by repurposing an old boot or shoe and planting it up with vibrant flowers or lush greenery to place by your front door.

Come along to the free event below to join in the fun and make something special together. All materials will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own shoe or boot.

With activities for all the family - from kid's craft sessions and story time, to inspiring demonstrations and talks - there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Bring along your broken household items to our talented volunteers, who will attempt to fix them showing you how they do it. If they are unable to fix something they can give advice on where to take it to be fixed by a specialist or recycled. 

Repairs are free of charge, but cash donations are welcome to help keep the repair shop and café running.

Make, Do and Mend - skill sharing for wellbeing

We’re thrilled to unveil a series of Make, Do and Mend creativity & wellbeing sessions, where members of the community will share their skills on a range of activities.

Skill-share sessions are free of charge. We welcome donations to support our work and enable us to continue hosting community events.

These sessions are being run in collaboration with Crich Parish Council and Arts Council England via Make/Shift. 

The workshops will take place every third Thursday of the month at the Crich Glebe Community Centre, from 7pm to 9pm, as follows:

17 April 2025 - empower your plate, growing and foraging

15 May 2025 - capturing nature in action, photography & sound recording
